Yay, finally back to playing again

Remembered about this site, so thought I might as well get back to playing with it again. I’ve started a new project called project.366. It’s a group photoblog site for a pile of people who apparently thought I’d had a good idea! Now I just need it to take off so that I can sell the idea to Google or someone else with lots of money, then I can retire rich and famous. Yeah right!

I’ve given up on my own theme for now and I’m back to hacking other peoples themes. I think I’ll stick to hacking simpler ones for now and lay off multiple headers / footers etc.

I’m probably going to be writing a site for the local Scout Group in the next week or two, so watch this space (that is if there is anyone watching …. looks over shoulder nervously)

’cause this isn’t HTML compliant ’cause of my weather pixie. The widget fubars the coding, but I like it so it’s staying.

Managed to write my first theme over the last couple of days. If you’re wondering why you can’t see it, it’s ’cause it’s not nearly as easy as it looks. Hacking and recoding is fine, from scratch is not!

Ah well ….

do NOT change the permalink structure on Wordpress - ever ever ever! Just spent all afternoon trying to work out why *none* of my pages would load, eventually spent about 10 minutes searching the wonderful archives in the forums, and it is now solved.

So - two tips for future reference:

1) Always check the forum archives *before* spending a whole afternoon swearing at wordpress

2) If I have to swear at wordpress, it is me that is stupid, not the software

Right. Back to playing with the website again …

This will eventually be a showpiece for the various websites that I have been involved with as well as a blog of sorts.

I started off doing a couple of websites for friends (as you do) and decided that (a) I enjoyed it and (b) I was actually quite good at it. Went off and learned CSS / php etc, and here I am.

AI Straws.com for Western Farm Enterprises was my first website and Marti Laguna is my most recent offering. This site will be a trial and error board, so expect the layout and content to change frequently while I play with things

I am currently working on several herd websites (Angus and Holstein mainly) as well as a couple of Spanish tourist sites. If you are interested in what I can do for you, please contact me using the contact form or by email to Katrina at the website address.
